How Did International Women’s Day Begin?
The roots of IWD go back to the early 20th century, when women fought for better working conditions, voting rights, and equality. In 1910, it was proposed by activist Clara Zetkin at an international women’s conference in Copenhagen.
Today, March 8th is a celebration of women’s courage, strength, and uniqueness worldwide. It is no longer only about politics – it is about recognizing the irreplaceable role women play in families, workplaces, and society.
